  • easy to install - just two tools required:
    • Shimano HG cassette freewheel
    • Shimano Centerlock/bottom bracket wrench with 16 notches
    • Preferably a torque wrench is suggested.
  • in case of cog exchange, the conversion kit remains on the freehub
  • the conversion kit can carry Gates® Carbondrive sprockets with 13-splines (Rohloff standard) or any common chain sprockets with same torque transmission.

  • Minimum transmission ratio chainring to sprocket on the conversion kit: ≥2.0. This is calculated from the number of teeth on the chainring/pulley to the number of teeth on the sprocket/belt pulley as follows, for example: 46/20 = 2.3 or 39/24 = 1.625

  • high-quality chain cog with 13-spline drive (Rohloff Carrier Standard)
  • Designed as a reversible cog - if one side is worn, simply turn it over and carry on riding. This increases the mileage even further!
  • hardened steel with a special surface coating to minimize friction and increase hardness, which in turn reduces wear.
  • specially developed tooth shape reliably prevents the chain from slipping when the pinion is worn out. In addition, the chain noise is reduced because the teeth engage with the chain more smoothly.
  • particularly durable - thanks to numerous improvements to many commercially available sprockets [3mm width, hardened steel with > HRC 60 hardness (through-hardened) and a special, additional surface coating with a hardness >HRC 70)] this chain sprocket is a true long-distance runner on all Rohloff gear hubs, but also in single-speed use (e.g. with the cyclepower single-speed conversion kits for SRAM® XD or Shimano® Microspline). Depending on the area of use and conditions, the service life is around 3-4x longer than the original Rohloff pinion!
